Precise recognition of subjects and posture
The α7R V features an advanced AI processing unit that handles large volumes of data to improve subject recognition more accurately and reliably. By estimating human posture, the camera can more accurately detect subject movement, improving gaze recognition by up to 60 percent. This system takes advantage of silhouettes to identify not only eyes, but also body and head posture, making it possible to follow subjects who look away or wear a mask. In addition, the α7R V expands its recognition to a wide range of subjects, including animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and planes, offering greater versatility for photos and videos.
Design
Flexibility and performance
Sony’s new 4-axis variable-angle LCD monitor offers unprecedented flexibility, combining the versatility of a traditional tilting monitor with the adaptability of side openings. This allows both horizontal and vertical angle adjustment for more dynamic and comfortable shooting. The α7R V’s 3.2-inch LCD panel boasts a 3:2 aspect ratio, 2.1 million dot resolution, touch control, and a wide color gamut (equivalent to DCI-P3), ensuring detailed and faithful images.
Autofocus
Faster and more accurate wide AF
Thanks to the new algorithms, autofocus is accurate even in very low light, down to EV -4.0 in AF-S mode, offering more reliable AF even in low light or small apertures. The camera supports continuous shooting at up to 10 fps with full AF/AE tracking, using both mechanical and electronic shutter, and can capture up to 583 compressed RAW images at this speed. In addition, the focus bracketing function allows up to 299 images to be automatically shot with sequential shifts of focus points, offering the ability to choose the perfect photo or create creative compositions with a unique depth of field.
