Photographic lens Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM with Sony E-mount offers a 12mm ultra-wide angle of view that emphasises distance and creates dynamic perspectives. The 12-24mm zoom with a constant F2.8 maximum aperture is ideal for shooting night scenes, starry skies and other low light subjects at low sensitivity. When used on an APS-C body or with a Super 35 angle of view, the wide-angle lens becomes equivalent to 18mm on a full-frame body, providing a very useful zoom range for shooting movies.
In this Sony lens, three XA elements (aspherical extremes) combine with an aspherical element to achieve outstanding G Master resolution in all areas of the image.
Their precision thus eliminates onion-effect bokeh, adjusting its spherical aberration characteristics during design and production, as well as a 9-blade circular aperture, contributing to smooth and soft G Master bokeh.
In addition, the Sony FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM features two Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and three ED glass elements that eliminate chromatic aberration. So resolution is not compromised, ensuring no colour fringing occurs and maintaining maximum sharpness in all areas of the image.
The new anti-reflective Nano AR Coating II eliminates internal reflections that cause stray light and ghosting, for clear and sharp images, even in low light. You can switch between manual and auto focus easily via the focus selector or menu. The dust and moisture resistant design of the Sony FE ensures the reliability you need in the harshest conditions of use. The front element of the lens has a fluorine coating that resists water, oil and other contaminants, reducing fingerprints that stick to the lens surface. Standard ultra-flat ND, colour correction and other filters can be inserted into the rear filter holder of the lens for greater expressiveness. A cutting template for fine filters is provided.
