Continuous high-speed shooting
The full-frame Exmor RSTM CMOS sensor and the latest generation BIONZ XTM processor offer continuous shooting speeds of up to 20 fps with AF/AE tracking, providing outstanding performance and a large buffer to capture decisive moments. The electronic shutter eliminates interruptions, keeping the subject perfectly visible even while shooting. With Live View at 60 fps, viewing lag is minimized.
Advanced autofocus and flawless tracking
With 693 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection autofocus points, the sensor offers a wide autofocus area, covering 93 percent of the frame. Thanks to the advanced and responsive Fast Hybrid AF system, Sony Alpha 9 II’s autofocus is extremely accurate even in low light, capturing the subject masterfully. Continuous AF and an optimized algorithm significantly improve accuracy and tracking, allowing the system to follow the subject even as the shutter is released.
FTP, Voice Memo and Metadata
Data transfer over FTP with the Sony Alpha 9 II full-frame camera is now even faster and more reliable with support for the 1000BASE-T compatible LAN terminal. Using the File Transfer Protocol over SSL/TLS (FTPS), transfers are secure and seamless. The camera enables background transfer during and after shooting, allowing JPEG and RAW files to be sent in real time to preset FTP servers (up to 9 servers). In addition, the new Voice Memo function allows you to record and attach audio descriptions of images, up to 60 seconds in .wav format, to document the details of the shot or the conditions under which it was taken.
