The three aspherical elements provide high resolution throughout the image and compensate for aberrations, ensuring high resolution from corner to corner of the image, even at wide aperture and shallow depth of field. The minimum focus distance ensures excellent close-up and is useful in many situations, such as when shooting close-ups of flowers or small objects, with a blurred background that highlights the subject.
