Easily transportable, this wide-angle fixed focal length lens is ideal for eye-catching wide-angle shots. The fast, precise and silent autofocus is perfect for capturing important moments. The three aspherical elements provide high resolution throughout the image and compensate for aberrations, ensuring high resolution from corner to corner of the image, even at wide aperture and shallow depth of field. The minimum focus distance ensures excellent close-up and is useful in many situations, such as when shooting close-ups of flowers or small objects, with a blurred background that highlights the subject.
The ultra-compact and lightweight design, high image quality of Sony FE 40mm F2.5 G Sony E-mount – Photographic lens, aperture ring and linear MF response ensure intuitive operation that makes shooting enjoyable. The mechanical design takes full advantage of both the state-of-the-art optics with layout of three aspherical elements and the short rear flange distance unique to mirrorless cameras to offer surprisingly compact dimensions and a weight of only 173 g.
