The Eizo ColorEdge CG2700S 27″ IPS monitor with USB-C and LAN connection for graphics – 109ppi, with a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a high contrast ratio of 1600:1 and a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m2, offers superior visual quality and extremely realistic sharpness: graphic elements and photos are displayed with absolute precision, contours look distinct and accurate. The panel with IPS (Wide Gamut) technology offers a wide viewing angle of 178° and optimal visibility. To take full advantage of the color spectrum of digital cameras, the monitor must ideally have a very wide color space. A limited amount of color can otherwise compromise the accurate display of saturated tones on the monitor. The CG2700S with IPS panel can cover the entire AdobeRGB space and almost the entire CMYK ISO-Coated V2 (99%) printing workspace, preserving the rich hues offered by modern cameras, without loss of information and simulating the printing result through the monitor (soft proof).
The color table (Look-Up-Table) of the CG2700S handles a 16-bit color depth and is capable of returning billions of colors. This greatly increases the number of colors to make use of while preventing any posterization or scaling effects (banding), alterations and loss of information in non-reproducible dark tones (clipping) or highly saturated areas. ‘Innovative True Black technology of the CG2700S allows it to maintain highly contrasted dark tones even in dark environments by returning extremely saturated and intense colors. The CG series is specially equipped with a so-called Retardation Film that enables maximum intensity viewing of black levels even from extremely angled positions, without loss of quality. Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) technology adjusts and neutralizes fluctuations in brightness and color, ensuring uniform colors that are stable over time and guarantees the color matching essential for processing, correcting and editing images in post-production. Fogra has awarded the ColorEdge CG2700S monitor the “Fogra-Cert Softproofing System” certification (which is based on the ISO 12646 standard) for its performance regarding display and monitor homogeneity in color proofing. Rely on a certified monitor that ensures maximum consistency.
Thanks to the calibration probe, maximum color fidelity can be achieved. The sensor is perfectly matched in every aspect to the monitor and takes into account the surrounding brightness conditions by correlating them to the center and corners of the display surface to ensure perfectly uniform rendering across the entire screen. The sensor is integrated inside the cabinet and is placed on the screen only during the calibration operation, making the purchase of other external measurement devices unnecessary, and the color accuracy and fidelity remains constant in a lasting manner. The CG2700S is equipped with an advanced sensor that enables really fast automatic calibration while continuing to work in noncolor-critical applications. Meanwhile, the monitor calibrates itself. The calibration probe requires little screen space and does not annoy. Calibration can be scheduled at set intervals, even when the computer is off or without being connected to the monitor. To ensure that color rendition, brightness level and other characteristics always remain accurate and stable even when the ambient temperature changes, the ColorEdge CG2700S monitor is equipped with a sensor that accurately detects the temperature inside the monitor. Artificial Intelligence-assisted correction algorithm* recognizes temperature changes and adjusts the color temperature accordingly in real time.
A conventional monitor takes about 30 minutes to stabilize brightness, chromaticity and tonal values. The ColorEdge CG2700S takes only three minutes to stabilize its performance. So users can be assured of stable parameters immediately after turning on the monitor. Optimal calibration can only be achieved with a well-calibrated monitor. However, the software calibration operation can be complex and requires excellent knowledge of color management. The proprietary EIZO ColorNavigator 7 calibration software enables almost instantaneous calibration (within 90 seconds: measurement made with MacBook Pro and EIZO EX4 probe) even for the least experienced user. Thus color fidelity remains constant even after 5 years. The CG2700S is equipped with an Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) that has been specifically designed and prepared by EIZO for digital color workflows. This circuit is the “brain” of every ColorEdge monitor that provides consistency, uniformity and viewing stability and ensures the quality excellence that is the hallmark of EIZO products. Ideal for photography, image editing and retouching, video editing, post-production and color grading, design, creation and illustration, printing and fine art printing, textile and apparel industry.
