Atomos AtomX Cast switcher expansion for Ninja / Ninja Ultra / Ninja V / V+ monitors is a modular companion for Atomos Ninja V and Ninja V+ monitor-recorders that uses the AtomX expansion port of the Ninja V/V+ to transform it into an advanced multi-input switcher. The combination of the Ninja V and AtomX CAST becomes the Ninja CAST, a fully functional stand-alone switcher, multiview monitor, and broadcast-quality recorder that does not require a computer to operate. With a high-quality 5-inch HDR touchscreen monitor, 4 HDMI inputs, and physical buttons, the Ninja CAST is the ultimate portable live switching and streaming solution.
In addition, thanks to powerful Atomos AI technology, the desktop application can automatically compare camera inputs with user-selected patches and create the correct LUTs to apply to each input for a perfect match. The application is available for Windows and Mac and is organized into five main topics. Flexible control options allow you to use the touchscreen or physical buttons to “switch” between sources when deciding what is to be transmitted on the screen at a given time. Illuminated buttons for each input and colored LED lighting for programming and preview status allow you to use CAST even in dimly lit environments. You can easily switch between quad view and single channel view on any input signal with a simple touch on the screen. In single-view mode, you have access to all of the Ninja V/V+ monitor-assist tools, including focus peaking, zooming, zebras, and more. Tapping the screen again returns you to quad view, ready to switch, knowing that all inputs are focused and exposed properly.
Connecting mirrorless or DSLR cameras, camcorders, computers, consoles or pre-recorded content via HDMI is really simple. No need to worry about synchronization because you can combine frame rates up to 60p. With Ninja V or Ninja V+ hooked up, AtomX CAST connects via USB-C to your computer and looks like a high-quality webcam. Plug and play allows you to work immediately with all video applications, such as Zoom, Teams and Skype, without the need to first install drivers on your computer. Up to 4 camera inputs can be added to take your presentation or meeting to the next level. With the compactness and versatility of AtomX CAST, users can easily work alone or with a team to enhance their productions. Solo operators can carry Ninja CAST in a small backpack and use it discreetly with compact mirrorless cameras for productions of any size. For larger setups, the Ninja HDMI output can be used as a secondary output to be configured as program duplication, preview monitoring for crew or talent, or to connect to a larger multiview display.
