The Allen & Heath GPIO general purpose I/O interface is a portable general-purpose input and output network device used for third-party integration into a dLive system. The Allen & Heath GPIO has 8 ground-switched inputs with opto-electronic isolation between the inputs. There are 7 normally open and 1 normally closed switched relay output. The relays have a maximum power of 10 Watts and a switching current of 0.4 Amp. In addition, the device provides two +10 V outputs with a maximum total current of 500 mA. IO parameters are assignable via software using a surface, iPad or control software running on Windows or Mac. The Allen & Heath GPIO is connected to a Surface or MixRack via standard Cat5 cabling via an RJ45 connector on the rear panel. In addition, a reset button is available to restore the default network settings if required. The optional mounting unit is robust and allows the installation of two units in a single rack unit. It also allows one half to be removed if only one unit is installed. The maximum number of units supported in any system is 8. The Allen & Heath GPIO unit must have a built-in power supply that accepts 12V DC via the supplied power supply. The unit must also conform to the PoE standard (IEEE 802.3af-2003) and be powered via the network port from an external switch or PoE injector. The recommended operating temperature for the Allen & Heath GPIO is between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius.
