Allen & Heath DT168 portable audio expander is a portable remote audio device for Dante-enabled Allen & Heath mixing systems. The remote audio unit provides 16 XLR inputs with phantom power and 8 XLR outputs. Phantom power LED indicators are provided for each input jack on the remote audio rack. The unit can provide 48kHz or 96kHz sampling rate over a Dante network. Two Ethercon connectors are provided to carry digital audio and control signals over Dante. The unit operates in “redundant” or “switched” mode via software. In “redundant” mode, the unit provides a fully redundant connection to any Dante device. In “switched” mode, the unit allows daisy chained connection of multiple units. The unit is equipped with a hardware “Network Reset” switch . The Ethernet protocol provides control to the remote preamplifier, and all microphone preamplifiers are callable from the mixing system.
The remote audio unit has a sturdy steel frame and is designed to be transportable and to be placed horizontally or vertically on the stage or in the performance environment. A carrying handle is provided to make it easy to lift the unit when moving. The remote audio unit has a built-in power supply that accepts AC mains voltages of 100~240V, 50/60 Hz, 40W through a 3-pin grounded IEC male connector mounted on the rear chassis. The recommended operating temperature for the remote audio unit is between 0° and 40°.
