What’s more, it offers the dynamic range and color science of digital cameras to handle the most adverse lighting conditions and produce film-quality images. With an ISO of 25600, the sensor can create stunning images even in dim light, even in moonlight. Talkback, tally, camera control, internal color corrector, recording in Blackmagic RAW to USB disks and live streaming are just some of the advanced features. It features a 4K cinema sensor and ISO up to 25600, micro 4/3 lens mount, 12G-SDI and HDMI, 3.5mm talkback, 7″ LCD display with sunshade, color corrector and recording to USB disks.

Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 is not limited to use with switchers. It can record in Blackmagic RAW on USB disks and adapts to any situation when installed on a tripod. The large 7″ viewfinder is ideal during talk shows, TV programs, news, sporting events, lectures, conferences and weddings. The bright display is equipped with side handles, touchscreen and physical controls to follow the footage and work in comfort for hours. In addition, such a lightweight design is perfect for changing locations and doing any kind of work. The unique Blackmagic Studio Camera offers all the advantages of large cameras but in a compact profile already complete with viewfinder. The carbon-fiber reinforced polycarbonate camera body is lightweight and packs innovative technology into a miniaturized design. Designed for live productions, the camera has a large 7″ viewfinder convenient for tracking and framing. The touchscreen displays settings menus and is flanked by knobs to adjust brightness, contrast and focus peaking. You can use the included mount and plate to anchor the camera to a tripod in a snap.

On advanced cameras, ISO represents the sensitivity of the sensor to light. The higher the ISO, the more gain you can add when capturing in natural light and even at night. With gain values between -12dB (ISO 100) and +36dB (ISO 25600), Blackmagic Studio Camera is optimized to reduce grain and noise in images while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. The primary native ISO is 400, ideal under studio lights, while the secondary ISO of 3200 lends itself to dimly lit environments. Gain can be set from the camera or remotely from a switcher via SDI or Ethernet connection. Amazing sensors combined with Blackmagic’s fifth-generation color science give you the same image technology as digital cameras. Now you can create live productions with cinematic images! And thanks to the built-in DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector, images look much better than those from broadcast cameras. The corrector can also be controlled from the switcher. The camera offers 13 stops of dynamic range, so blacks are darker and whites purer, ideal for color correction. Fantastic for both HD and Ultra HD productions, the 4K models boast a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and the 6K model of 6144 x 3456. In addition, all models support fps from 23.98 to 60.

With its micro 4/3 lens mount, the Blackmagic Studio Camera is compatible with a wide range of inexpensive photographic lenses, which are of excellent quality because they are designed for high-resolution photography. Not only that, the mount is active and allows remote control. Instead of leaning out to adjust the lens, with the optional Zoom Demand and Focus Demand systems you can do it directly from the tripod handles as with large studio cameras. So you avoid vibrating the camera when you adjust the lens, and you can follow the action and operate without moving your hands from the tripod. It’s like working with expensive B4 broadcast lenses. The large, high-resolution 7″ screen totally transforms the way you work because framing is so much easier. Pro models boast a super-bright HDR display, perfect for outdoor work in bright sunlight. On-screen overlays include status and recording indicators, histogram, focus peaking, audio levels, and framing guides. You can also apply 3D LUTs to monitor footage with the color and look you prefer. From the touchscreen you access menus and can load and customize preset configurations to suit your project. The included sunshield can be folded to protect the screen during transport, and Blackmagic Studio Viewfinder sunshields are also compatible.

The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 is equipped with physical knobs and buttons in addition to touchscreen controls. Use the knobs on the right to adjust brightness, contrast, and focus peaking. The peaking function allows super-precise adjustments of light details to achieve perfect focus when zooming. The three function buttons on the left can be programmed differently, for example to use zebra, false color, peaking and LUT. The assigned function can be changed from the menu provided. The touchscreen boasts a HUD display that shows the most important shooting information, camera settings menus, LUTs, and tailored defaults. It houses a large tally light that glows red for live, green for preview, and orange for ISO mode recording. The included transparent numbers can be placed on the light to identify the camera up to 20 feet away! Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 supports the SDI tally of ATEM live production switchers and the HDMI tally of ATEM Mini switchers. When the director switches between cameras, tally information reaches the cameraa via the SDI program return, illuminating the On Air camera light. The tally via SDI eliminates complex wiring and speeds up setup.

Unlike consumer cameras, the Blackmagic Studio Camera includes SDI connections with built-in talkback to allow communication with the switcher operator during events. In this way, the director can tell camera operators what to frame, preventing different cameras from capturing the same images. Talkback makes use of audio channels 15 and 16 of the SDI connection between the camera and the switcher, and the program return from the switcher to the camera. It works with any SDI device with built-in audio. It has numerous connections for professional and consumer equipment. Also includes headphone and microphone inputs, and two USB-C expansion ports.
