The Tilta MB-T17 Mirage Pro Matte Box Base Kit is a clamp-on matte box designed for cinematographic use on cine or adapted lenses, engineered to provide stray light control, filter support and rig modularity. The structure uses a combination of aluminium and carbon fibre (for the front cap/filter) in order to maintain strength and lightness.

Each tray is equipped with an independent fixing screw to prevent accidental displacement of the filter in position. The system features a magnetic clip mechanism for the front cap, allowing for quick release to lighten the load when necessary — especially useful on gimbals or weight-sensitive setups. The included top flag helps to shield unwanted direct rays and minimise flare. Inside, both the hood and the internal walls are treated with an anti-reflective coating to absorb diffused light and reduce unwanted reflections.

The basic kit is also compatible with 15 mm bar mounts (LWS adapter included) for integration into standard film rigs.
