The Hoya Mist Diffuser Black No 1 is a 72mm creative filter from the Mist Diffuser series, suitable for both photography and video. Once mounted on the lens, it slightly reduces contrast and diffuses light sources in the frame, creating a mist effect reminiscent of cinematic aesthetics. The Hoya Mist Diffuser Black line stands out from other diffusion filters because it does not brighten or wash out the image, leaving the scene’s original color unchanged. This creative mist effect filter is particularly suited for evening portraits and sunset landscape shots, where light diffusion affects the overall rendering of the image. The intensity of the effect depends on several factors: the lens’s focal length, exposure time, and exposure compensation settings, leaving the final creative choice to the photographer. The series is available in two intensities, No 0.5 and No 1: the No 1 version produces a more visible result and is suited for night shoots and more distant light sources, while the No 0.5 version creates a subtler effect. The Hoya Mist Diffuser 72mm filter is designed for lenses with a 72mm filter thread: before purchasing, check the diameter indicated on your lens, as the Mist Diffuser Black 72mm fits this size only. On Martcom you can buy the Hoya Mist Diffuser Black No 1 and check the technical table for filter type, effect, intensity, and diameter.
