The Allen & Heath dLive S3000 128-channel digital audio mixer features 20 movable faders in two banks, each with 6 levels accessed by dedicated buttons. All fader strips are configurable as input channels, mixes, FX sends, FX returns, DCA masters or MIDI strips. Each fader strip features a dedicated PAFL, Mix, Select and Mute button with indicators, 22-segment multi-point meter, 6-segment gain reduction meter, 6-segment rotary encoder and colored LCD display with name, mode, status and level. 7 buttons with indicators provide global mode for rotary controls that are Gain, Pan, Sends and up to 4 custom functions. Sending levels to mixes are adjustable via faders.
 
Capacitive 12″ touchscreen provides access to channel processing, meters, FX, I/O, scene management, configuration, utilities and diagnostics. Dedicated physical controls for adjusting gain, HPF/LPF filters, and 4-band PEQ. Other physical controls are user assignable, including 6 rotary encoders arranged in 3 levels and 26 user-defined buttons. Dedicated keys are provided for quick Copy/Paste/Reset of mixes and processing parameters, pre/post and mix assignments, scene safe, GEQ fader flip, PAFL, scene automation, talkback and library access. 22-segment meters indicate the 3 main mix levels, PAFL signal overrides LR meters accompanied by an active PAFL indicator. ¼” and 3.5 mm jacks for surface PAFL headphone output in addition to an analog jack for headphone output. The mixer includes 2-track recording and playback for optional USB drives. There are two USB ports on the front, one of which is dedicated to recording/playback, and another USB port on the rear panel.
 
The surface provides 8 high-quality XLR inputs and can handle microphone or line signals, with analog gain adjustable in 1-dB steps, 20-dB PAD and phantom power. It also provides 8 XLR line outputs, 2 AES-3 stereo XLR inputs with SRC and 3 AES-3 stereo XLR outputs with SRC.An option must be available to bypass sample rate conversion on the digital inputs or outputs.Two 128-channel I/O ports are also available for optional digital interface modules. Optional interface modules include:MADI, EtherSound, Dante, Waves SoundGrid and ACE. A pair of Ethercon ports is provided for redundant connection to the rack engine via the Allen & Heath gigaACE protocol.This connection carries more than 300×300 channels of uncompressed 96kHz audio, control data and tunnelling of third-party Ethernet traffic. Two Ethercon ports are provided for I/O expansion via a redundant audio connection carrying up to up to 32×32 channels of 96kHz uncompressed audio. A range of optional expansion racks (sold separately) is provided, including a modular rack with 8-channel card options, including analog or digital I/O.
 
There are two BNC connectors on the unit for wordclock input and output. There are also a pair of RJ45 sockets for Gigabit Ethernet network connections to laptops or other control systems. The unit has a modular power supply that accepts AC mains voltages of 100~240 V, 50/60 Hz, 300 W max. via a grounded 3-pin male IEC connector. A rocker switch is near the mains input to isolate the unit from the incoming mains. The unit also offers the option of a second hot-swappable redundant power supply. This is of the same type and interchangeable with the standard power supply. A password protection option is provided for multiple user access with different levels of system access and permissions.
