The Allen & Heath CDM64 dLive MixRack audio mixer 64×32 I/O is an 8U rack-mountable device that can operate independently, with or without a control surface.
The Allen & Heath CDM64 dLive MixRack audio mixer 64×32 I/O is an 8U rack-mountable device that can operate independently, with or without a control surface. It can handle 128 input channels, 64 mixes and over 400 soft-patchable system inputs and outputs, all independently assigned. There are 16 rack-mounted stereo FX engines with dedicated stereo returns, and 24 DCAs. The rack unit contains the mixing engine. The mixing engine operates at a sampling rate of 96 kHz and uses FPGA technology for digital signal processing. System latency from analog input to output shall not exceed 0.7ms. The Allen & Heath CDM64 mixer provides 64 high-quality XLR inputs capable of handling microphone or line signals and shall have remote-controlled analog gain adjustable in 1-dB steps, a 20-dB PAD, and phantom power. All input channels are configurable mono/stereo and have access to any of the unit’s hardware inputs or remote inputs via expansion options. Mix buses are configurable as any combination of mono/stereo aux sends, groups, mains, FX sends or matrixes. All output channels are routable to any of the unit’s 32 XLR line outputs, or to remote output via expansion options. All input channels contain the following processing: Trim, Polarity, High Pass Filter, Low Pass Filter, two insert points, Gate, Parametric EQ, Compressor and Delay. All output channels of the mix contain the following processing: External Input, Trim, Polarity, Insert, Parametric EQ, Graphic EQ, Compressor, Delay. Parametric, Graphic EQ, Compressor, and Delay. Channel processing must also provide high-quality emulations of classic compressors and GEQs. These emulations can be inserted on any channel, without using the internal FX and without the need for external plug-ins or licenses. The Allen & Heath CDM64 mixer provides automatic mic mixing (AMM) of up to 64 mic sources in 1 or 2 or 4 zones. The AMM is capable of operating in classical gain-sharing mode or as a Number of Open Microphones (NOM) algorithm. There is also a single 128-channel I/O port for an optional digital interface module. provided. Optional interface modules include: MADI, EtherSound, Dante, Waves SoundGrid and ACE. There is an Ethercon port for connection to the control surface via the Allen & Heath gigaACE protocol. This connection carries over 300×300 channels of uncompressed 96kHz audio, control data, and third-party Ethernet traffic tunnelling. An Ethercon port is also provided for I/O expansion, carrying up to 32×32 channels of uncompressed 96kHz audio. A range of optional expansion racks is provided, including modular and fixed-format racks with analog or digital I/O. The DLIVE-CDM64 unit has a BNC connector for wordclock input and output. To a pair of RJ45 sockets for gigabit Ethernet network connections to laptop computers or other laptop or other control systems. There is also a headphone output. The unit has a fixed power supply accepting AC mains voltages of 100~240V, 50/60 Hz, 175W max via a grounded 3-pin IEC male connector. The Allen & Heath CDM64 mixer allows 500 scenes to be saved.
Allen & Heath Class C MixRacks are the core element of the dLive system. Equipped with a modular architecture, they allow expansion and customisation with a wide range of I/O options, enabling flexible management of audio resources. They support customised configurations for live events, broadcast and permanent installations, offering high scalability.
With an FPGA XCVI audio engine, Class C MixRacks guarantee low-latency processing up to 96 kHz, providing high-quality dynamic compression, equalisation and FX. The power of the DSP can handle up to 128 inputs and 64 buses, ideal for complex projects without compromising sound quality.
Class C MixRacks integrate the Dante protocol for audio transmission over IP and are compatible with formats such as MADI, S-Link and Waves. The network interface allows connection with other dLive control surfaces and third-party devices, offering flexibility and integration into complex audio workflows.
