Sirui Venus range is ready to amaze the film world once again with the 100mm T2.9 1.6x full-frame anamorphic lens, which is unmatched in its class. The lens has a 1.6x compression factor. When shooting in 3:2, an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 is achieved. When the sensor is set to 16:9, you get an aspect ratio of 2.8:1 . The resulting visual experience is of high quality and intensity equal to that of the well-known IMAX format. Whether for wide scenes or close-ups, the images obtained with this lens are of superior quality, high resolution, and with good sharpness.
Since it is a full-frame lens, it is capable of displaying a larger amount of images than APS-C equivalents, providing ample room to pan-and-scan or punch in post-processing. For example, if part of an image is redundant, simply crop it out without worrying about pixel loss. The lens super-thin barrel is made of high-quality aluminum alloy. In addition, the aperture and focus rings are ideally designed for use with a focus assist system. The lens, with its 1.6x compression factor, produces a beautifully shaped oval bokeh that is more pleasing than lenses with 1.33x compression, adding expressiveness and aesthetics to the cinematic result. Pointing a light source directly at the lens produces the characteristic blue lens flares for which anamorphic lenses are known, adding a touch of magic to one’s image.
