Laowa Venus Optics 15mm f/2 Zero-D Canon RF-mount – photographic lens is a fast and bright, straight wide-angle lens with a sophisticated optical design that effectively limits distortion. The bright maximum aperture of f/2 makes this lens particularly useful for astrophotography and low-light use, and when combined with the minimum focusing distance of 5.9″, it enables the production of images with a significantly shallow depth of field. The optical construction includes three ultra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, for greater sharpness, clarity and reduction of chromatic fringing. A Frog Eye Coating was also applied to repel dust and moisture from the front lens element, benefiting work in harsh environmental conditions. In addition, the manual aperture ring can be turned off to change aperture smoothly and quietly to suit video applications, and the front of the lens is threaded to accept 72mm screw-on filters.
