Laowa Venus Optics 14mm f/4 Zero-D Sony E-mount – photographic lens is an elegant prime lens with decidedly low distortion and rectilinear rendition that is suitable for interior, architecture, astrophotography, nature and landscape applications. The wide 114-degree angle of view is aided by an advanced optical design, which includes two aspherical, high-refractive-index elements and three low-dispersion elements, to realize well-corrected, sharp and color-accurate images. The lens features manual focus and allows you to work with subjects up to 10.6″ away; in addition, the built-in petal-shaped lens hood helps block stray light that causes unwanted lens flare. The ultra-wide prime lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models, where it offers a 21mm equivalent focal length.
The built-in petal-shaped lens hood helps prevent stray light from causing lens flare and also offers some physical protection to the front element of the lens, plus the five-blade aperture produces 10-point sun stars and distinct specular reflections when stop-down and photographing point light sources.
The front of the lens is threaded to accept optional 52 mm filters. The lens is also compatible with an optional dedicated 100 mm filter holder.
