The Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S zoom with EF-mount – lens with metric scale in meters is a compact EOS Cinema lens with cine-servo capability. It ranks below cine-servo lenses and above EF lenses. The ergonomic design supports hand-held shooting and is ideal for shooting documentaries, interviews, weddings, independent films and corporate videos. The lens strengthens Canon’s line of cine-servo lenses, following in the footsteps of the CN7x17 and CN20x50. It is a more affordable option than existing cine-servo lenses, which tend to be rented rather than carried, while maintaining excellent image quality and simple operation.
The Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 includes a servo motor powered via EF mount connectors. For added versatility, users can use the optional ZSG-C10 handle, a dedicated zoom grip ideal for use with handheld rigs. Communication between camera and lens is via the EF mount, which offers powerful features such as chromatic aberration compensation and peripheral illumination correction. The EF mount also enables a number of other powerful functions, including metadata capture and remote control options for fully automatic or manual control.
