The Canon CN-E 14mm T3.1 FP X Sumire Prime with PL-mount – lens with metric scale in meters is an ultra wide-angle prime lens with manual focus that covers full frame and Super 35 sensor formats providing center-to-edge resolution that supports 4K production. It features a PL mount and has focus scales marked in feet. The Sumire lens series is designed with the goal of creating pleasing close-ups of faces of all ages, genders and ethnicities. This effect increases as the lens approaches its widest aperture. The 14 mm offers a maximum T-stop of 3.1 and has an 11-blade diaphragm that provides natural-looking, blurred round reflections for pleasing bokeh. The lens barrel features a smooth 300° rotation from close focus to infinity, offering a high degree of precision and consistent focus.
The Canon CN-E 14mm T3.1 FP X Sumire Prime is designed to minimize focus breathing. It offers focus distance marks on both sides of the barrel with the rear marks on an angled surface, making it readable from both sides of the camera. Some of the marks are made with phosphorescent paint, making them easier to see in low light. All Sumire series lenses share the same 114 mm front barrel diameter, focus rotation, and focus and iris gear positions, allowing for easier lens replacement.
