The Allen & Heath SQ-7 48-channel audio mixer is built for professionals in live, recording and streaming applications, powered by Allen & Heath’s revolutionary XCVI 96kHz FPGA engine. Delivering class-leading high-resolution audio with ultra-low latency at <0.7ms, the SQ-7 delivers unparalleled audio power and fidelity. The SQ’s dashboard is centered around a 7″ high-resolution capacitive touchscreen, framed by a series of high-grip illuminated encoders to create an intuitive, integrated combination of clear visual feedback and immediate, hands-on control. Channels and mixes can be dragged and dropped into any strip, with custom names and color coding on the strip displays, allowing you to create a mixing environment that suits you. Each strip features our patented Chromatic channel metering system, which provides instant level indication through LEDs with variable brightness and color. SQ is equipped with all the processing you need to create the perfect mix. Each input features HPF, superfast gate with sidechain and filter, 4-band musical parametric equalizer and Peak/RMS compressor to control and shape levels and transients. Mixes come standard with a 28-band parametric and graphic equalizer and compressor, all ready to be activated when needed. The 48-channel Allen & Heath SQ-7 audio mixer features 8 stereo FX engines and comes with the acclaimed RackExtra library, with emulations of legendary classic reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, modulators and more. Each engine also has its own dedicated stereo return, so there is no need to use any of the 48 input channels. The built-in 32×32 96kHz audio interface allows easy multitrack recording, backing-track playback, livestreaming and virtual soundcheck. The interface is class-compliant on Mac OS X, making it truly plug’n play and will be instantly recognized by any DAW that supports Core Audio, including Logic, Cubase, Reaper and Pro Tools. An ASIOTM and WDM compatible driver is available for Windows computers. Standard MIDI control is transmitted over USB and network connections and can be mapped to the faders of your favorite DAW using the A&H MIDI Control application, which provides easy configuration and emulation of HUI or Mackie Control protocols on Mac OS X and Windows systems. The SQ MixPad app is available free of charge on iOS, Android, Windows and macOS platforms and allows for offline editing and online wired or wireless control of key mixing functions. SQ-7 has all the built-in I/O required for stand-alone operation. Thanks to the intelligent SLink port, SQ can also be expanded up to a total of 48 mic inputs via a family of 96kHz and 48kHz rack and stage box expanders, making it a flexible, mix ‘n’match solution for owners of other Allen & Heath digital systems. You can also connect your SQ directly to another SQ, an Avantis or even a dLive system.
