The blackmagic ATEM 4 M/E Constellation HD broadcast switcher with 40 SDI inputs has twice the functions of the 2 M/E model. It offers 40 3G-SDI inputs, 24 3G-SDI outputs, 4 DVEs, 16 advanced ATEM keyers, 4 multiviews, and 2 SuperSources for a total of 12 DVEs. Each audio input connects to a built-in Fairlight audio mixer that supports up to 156 audio channels. The switcher has a reference video input and each input is equipped with a frame synchroniser, frame rate converter and format converter. This allows combining cameras, formats, non-genlocked cameras and video input from computer sources. Upstream and downstream keyers and effects are supported. All this is done live and in real time, with no rendering required. The switcher can be controlled using the built-in front panel, optional Blackmagic ATEM panels or downloadable control software. The Blackmagic ATEM 4 M/E Constellation HD broadcast switcher with 40 SDI inputs includes a wide range of broadcast-quality native transitions such as mix, dip, wipe and more. All transitions can be customised in the system control menus with adjustments for edge colour, edge width, position, direction and more. The ATEM Constellation switcher includes a powerful digital video effects processor for DVE transitions, which can be used to compress the current image off-screen, revealing new video beneath it. DVE can also be used to create graphical wipe transitions. To eliminate errors, ATEM Constellation HD has a transition preview function that allows transitions to be set before broadcast. In addition to DVEs in M/E files, the 4 M/E model includes the powerful SuperSource multi-layer processors with eight additional DVE layers plus a background layer, all of which appear on ATEM Constellation HD as an additional input source. Each video input of the switcher can be used for each SuperSource DVE. SuperSource is like having an extra multi-layer VFX switcher. SuperSource is perfect for picture-in-picture displays for interviews, because you can set the effect while keeping the main DVEs free for other tasks.
