Cinematographic Look
Sensitivity in this series reaches new heights, with an extended ISO range from 80 to 409600 (standard ISO 80 to 102400). Using advanced light-harvesting and output management technology, the 12.1-megapixel full-frame sensor provides noise reduction throughout the ISO range, allowing images to be captured even in near-total darkness. In addition, the S-Cinetone look, inherited from professional cameras such as the FX9 and VENICE in the Cinema line, offers a cinematic look right in the camera.
Excellent continuous shooting performance
The Sony A7S III mirrorless digital camera has a new image sensor and advanced processing algorithms ensure sharper images and more natural textures than the previous α7S II model, even in low-light conditions. The Fast Hybrid AF system combines speed and precision, thanks to 759 phase detection points and 425 contrast detection points distributed across the frame. This makes it possible to detect and track the subject with extreme accuracy while maintaining focus throughout the image. Using both mechanical and electronic shutter, the α7S III enables continuous shooting at up to 10 fps, with active AF/AE tracking. It captures over 1000 frames of uncompressed RAW shots to ensure that every highlight is captured with the highest quality.

Fast hybrid autofocus
The extended area autofocus system takes advantage of intelligent tracking and phase detection on the sensor, covering a large area of the frame. Combined with high-quality E-mount lenses, it delivers excellent AF performance even with moving subjects and shallow depth of field, in 4K resolutions and 120p frame rates. With 7 levels of AF transition speed and 5 levels of subject change sensitivity, you can fully express your creative vision when changing focus or subject. In addition, autofocus can be activated with a simple touch, even while using manual focus.
