The Sony RM-DP5 is a monitor controller designed for operators using Sony FX5, FX3, FX2, and FX30 Cinema Line cameras, with support for FX6 and BURANO expected via firmware update in the second half of 2027. The device integrates a 5″ Full HD touch monitor with brightness up to 2,000 cd/m² and a control knob for manual focus into a single body, designed for solo operators or small teams needing to monitor and control the camera from a distance.

Professional-grade color calibration, performed individually at the factory, ensures faithful reproduction even in difficult outdoor lighting conditions, with continuous color drift compensation. The monitor supports 6 look presets and up to 16 user LUTs in .cube format (17 or 33 grid), useful for S-Log3 monitoring. Camera control is handled via touch, control knob, multi-function dial, and assignable buttons, with support for touch autofocus and zoom control on compatible power zoom lenses.

Camera connection is available via Ethernet, USB-C, or wirelessly with video transmission up to 4K through compatible third-party wireless transmitters. The aluminum body, resistant to dust and moisture, can be powered via Sony BP-U series batteries or USB-C Power Delivery, featuring hot-swap functionality. Unlike its larger sibling, the RM-DP7, the RM-DP5 model does not have SDI input/output or DC input, making it more compact and suitable for on-camera use.
