The wide-angle lens captures landscapes and wider indoor scenes for your photos and videos when you don’t have enough room to move away. High-bit-rate XAVC S format delivers outstanding quality by leveraging intelligent data compression to export manageable file sizes.

The innovative Exmor R CMOS Sensor improves image purity, reduces noise in dark environments, and enables soft background blurring. The advanced BIONZ X image processor contributes to more vivid, natural and realistic images and faster processing. The sensor technology is top-notch by combining Sony and Zeiss technologies. By setting the camera to photo mode, you can take beautiful 9.2 megapixel images, just as you would with a camera.

You can record sharp videos in Full HD at 60p/50p in progressive recording mode, with twice as much image data as in interlaced mode. This Sony CX405 handycam shoots two videos simultaneously: one in the highest quality XAVC S or AVCHD format and the other in mp4 format. Intelligent Auto Adjustment automatically determines the type of scene to be shot and optimizes a combination of settings from three groups (faces, scene, camera shake), offering optimal results for 90 types of scenes, including night and backlit scenes. Face Detection Selects the priority subject by simply touching his or her face on the LCD, a useful function for choosing a key person when shooting a crowded event. Even if the subject leaves the frame, priority will be restored as soon as he or she re-enters the scene.
