It features a 1-inch true condenser capsule based on high-end vocal microphone acoustics and 965, optimized for recording and internally mounted to minimize structure-borne noise; also composed of the 24-karat gold-plated diaphragm. The MK 4 is made in Germany and its transducer is manufactured in the same clean room as all high-end Sennheiser condenser capsules.
