The Sennheiser EW-DX SK / SKM-S BASE SET (Q1-9) Digital handheld transmitter includes an EW-DX SKM-S handheld transmitter, part of the Evolution Wireless Digital system in the Q1-9 band (470.2–550 MHz). The device is housed in a robust, compact and lightweight metal chassis (~120 g without batteries), with a standard capsule interface that ensures compatibility with a wide range of Sennheiser and Neumann microphone modules.
The transmitter boasts a proprietary SePAC audio codec, which offers 134 dB input dynamics and ultra-low latency of 1.9 ms, making the audio quality extremely transparent and suitable for professional productions.

Frequency and channels are managed by an AutoScan function and an equidistant tuning grid, providing up to 146 channels in standard mode and 293 in Link Density (LD) mode, with a switching bandwidth of up to 88 MHz.

Power is supplied by two AA batteries or a BA 70 rechargeable battery, which provides up to 12 hours of battery life and supports charging via dedicated contacts (CHG 70N, optional). The permanent E‑Ink display ensures that parameters remain visible even without power, while the function keys and lock can be operated directly on the device. The transmitter supports remote control via the Smart Assist App (Bluetooth Low Energy up to 25 m) and system administration is possible via Control Cockpit or Wireless System Manager, as well as ensuring secure transmissions thanks to AES-256 encryption.
