The Sennheiser EK 2000 IEM GW X Portable Stereo In-Ear Monitor Receiver is a stereo bodypack receiver for in-ear monitoring systems, designed for professional use on stage, in broadcasting and in live environments. The housing is made entirely of metal, sturdy and compact, ideal for prolonged use, and weighs between 140 g and 200 g with batteries. On the UHF band, it handles up to 3,000 tunable frequencies in 25 kHz steps and offers a switchable bandwidth of up to 75 MHz.
It uses Adaptive-Diversity technology, where the earphone cable acts as a second antenna to minimise signal interruptions.

The audio system uses HDX compander technology, with a frequency response of 25 to 15,000 Hz (or up to 18,000 Hz according to some sources), a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 90 dB(A) and THD ≤ 0.9%.
The headphone output provided is stereo with power up to 2×100 mW at 32 Ω or up to 2×200 mW according to other variants. It also features High Boost (+8 dB at 10 kHz or 80 kHz depending on the version) and a limiter adjustable from –18 dB to –6 dB.
From an operational point of view, it is powered by two AA batteries or an Accupack BA 2015 (rechargeable), offering an average of 4–6 hours of battery life, and up to 10 hours in some configurations. The user interface is enhanced by a backlit graphic display, 20 fixed banks with up to 32 presets and 6 programmable user banks.
Supports IR synchronisation with the transmitter, automatic scanning of free frequencies, squelch adjustable in 2 dB steps, and advanced functions such as Hi Boost, stereo/focus mode, adjustable balance, and automatic lock to prevent accidental changes.
