The Rycote 033342 Classic-Softie Windshield Kit with Universal Mount and Pistol-grip is an open-cell foam windproof cover with integral fur cover. Together they provide a quick, simple, robust and cost-effective windshield headphone and shock mount for the harsh environment of modern ENG and location recording. The Softie reduces wind noise by up to 40 dB and is the world standard in the broadcast industry. Softie are available in a wide range of sizes to fit most popular shotgun microphones. Both the acoustic foam and the synthetic fur are made from materials specially designed and manufactured for this purpose and, as a result, offer excellent wind noise reduction without any negative effect on high frequencies. Furthermore, the foam is not susceptible to damage from UV rays or moisture, which gives this product great longevity. Advanced materials, adhesives and assembly techniques combine to make the Softie an extremely durable product that offers excellent wind protection in the harshest environments. The Softie Lyre Mount is a universal mount, complete with pistol grip, that utilises the patented Lyre system to provide complete isolation against handling and cable noise. The Softie Lyre Mount features a soft grip moulded into the clip that firmly holds the microphone, preventing it from slipping or twisting. Lyre mount are extremely robust and virtually unbreakable, as they do not use elastic or rubber components that are subject to wear and tear. The supplied pistol grip has an added element of versatility, as it has a 3/8″ threaded connection for use with a pole.
