The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 45mm F1.8 Silver – Photographic lens features a very practical fixed focal length, bright enough to excel even in low light indoor shots and fast enough to get professional quality action shots, second to none when it comes to creating the lovely blurred background effects you want for your portraits. Photographers who shoot a lot of portraits and still lifes are always looking for a good bokeh effect. Lenses with a relatively shallow depth of field, such as the 45 mm, are especially good for photographing a combination of sharp subjects with a wonderfully soft, blurred background that brings the bokeh effect to life. Your inspirations consist of several professional-level photos with sharply rendered subjects and artistic blurred backgrounds. This is the lens that will help you get the same kind of shots. It is especially useful for portraits, but also works well for still life, motion pictures, and video. In short, it is a great addition to your Olympus camera system.

One of the most interesting features of this lens is the unique Olympus Movie & Still Compatible mechanism, called MSC. This technology provides incredibly fast and almost completely silent autofocus operation. You will be able to notice its genuine advantage when you play back your HD video and the only thing you will hear is the background noise from the environment you were filming in; what you will not hear is the sound of focusing. This lens is perfect for following your subjects in action. With the MSC mechanism and super bright f1.8 aperture, you can film a school play or an indoor sporting event even in low light and still get excellent results. Recommended for versatile subjects such as architecture, landscape, low light, nature, portrait, sports, travel.
