The LED light Nanlite Forza 150B bicolor – 170W is remarkably compact and lightweight when considering the powerful light output it offers. Weighing only 1.56 kg, the Forza 150B uses a glass-covered two-tone COB LED module with a CCT range of 2700K-6500K. It can emit 23,130 Lux of balanced 5600K light at 1 meter with the included reflector. Like all Nanlite fixtures, the Forza 150B maintains high CRI and TLCI ratings (96 and 98), ensuring accurate color rendering. The Forza 150B has a 3.5 mm input for DMX/RDM control and a built-in USB port for firmware updates, which can be used to power DMX receivers. While being as compact as possible, the Forza 150B has several on-board controls, 2.4 GHz for use with remote controls and the WS-TB-1 transmitter box (sold separately), and Bluetooth for direct control with the free NANLINK mobile app for iOS and Android. A Bowens mount adapter with built-in umbrella mount, travel case, reflector, and AC adapter with V-Mount battery slot are included.

The Forza 150B is similar in many ways to the popular Forza 60B LED single-lamp, except that it delivers twice the light output and has an even quieter fan. When you don’t need as much power, the Forza 150B can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent and all steps in between. When more light is needed, the separately available FL-11 fresnel lens increases output to the formidable figure of 54,290 Lux. One reason the Forza 150B can be so compact and lightweight is that it features the FM Nanlite mount. A wide range of dedicated light modifiers are available for this attachment, such as different types of softboxes and projection attachments. A Bowens mount adapter is included that fits in the travel case, so you can use a large number of light-shaping tools with the Forza 150B while still taking advantage of the weight and space-saving benefits of the significantly smaller FM mount. To change modifiers, simply press a button and rotate a quarter turn.

The Forza 150B is not only bright, compact and light, but also has above-average capabilities. On board are 12 practical effects: CCT Loop, Flash, Pulse, Storm, TV, Paparazzi, Candle/Fire, Bad Bulb, Firework, Explosion, INT Loop and Welding. Optimized for studio or location use, the Forza 150B can operate with either the included AC adapter or a 14.8W or 26V V-Mount battery (not included), so it can operate anywhere regardless of power availability. There is a V-Mount battery mounting plate on the AC adapter, and the 4-pin XLR power connector with lock on the unit helps prevent inadvertent disconnections. Power and portability are excellent qualities, but if the light is not reliably accurate you will have many problems with post-production shots and images. The Forza 150B has a CRI of 96 and a TLCI of 98, which means you can always shoot with confidence knowing that color reproduction will be accurate. Supplied with a standard 5/8-inch receiver mount, the Forza 150B can be mounted directly to any standard lighting stand, while the one-sided yoke makes it easy to angle and maintain the perfect position. The Forza 150B’s active, quiet fan keeps the light cool and does not interfere with audio when using microphones on quiet sets.
