The Hoya Mist Diffuser Black No. 1 creative filter is a 67mm mist effect filter that, when attached to the lens, slightly reduces contrast and diffuses light sources within the frame. Part of the Mist Diffuser series, it is designed for photography and video where a soft image with a cinematic look is desired directly in-camera. According to the manufacturer, the Mist Diffuser Black line does not lighten or whiten the image, maintaining the scene’s original color. Effect intensity depends on lens focal length, exposure time, and exposure compensation settings, leaving the final creative choice to the image maker. The series is available in two grades: the No. 0.5 version produces a subtler effect suitable for evening shots or light sources near the camera, while the No. 1 version offers more pronounced results, better suited for night shots and more distant light sources. This listing refers to the Hoya Mist Diffuser 67mm in the No. 1 version. The effect is particularly suited for evening portraits, landscapes at sunrise and sunset, and woodland scenes where sunlight filters through trees. Purchase the Hoya Mist Diffuser Black if your lenses have a 67mm filter diameter.
