Canon’s PTZ CR-X300 4K UHD with CMOS sensor and 20x zoom – white outdoor camera can be used directly in places of worship, conference rooms, government applications, field classroom, broadcast streaming production, event space or even add an extra camera to documentary footage. With weather-resistant paint, a durable aluminium body, an internal fan, IP65 waterproof rating and integrated wiper, it can be used for outdoor surveillance and security.

The CR-X300 offers many features of a Canon camera such as a 1/2.3-inch hybrid dual-pixel CMOS sensor, Canon DIG!C DV6 AF, scene modes, IR (infrared) mode, 20x optical zoom, 20x digital zoom, built-in waterproof microphone and video capture and output up to UHD 4K. The camera also includes NDIHX support without requiring a separate licence, allowing the camera to be dropped into the existing NDI network with minimal configuration. Where the PTZ camera diverges from camcorders is in its remote resources such as control via IP and RS-422, as well as HDMI, 6G-SDI and IP streaming outputs and compatibility with the Canon RC-IP100 IP PTZ remote control. It can perform smooth, precision, tilt and zoom movements with a speed range from 0.3 to 60 degrees per second.

The camera can also be powered using PoE+ (Power-over-Ethernet) using its LAN port, so it can adapt directly to the existing PoE+ network without requiring the use of local power to save cabling. The camera supports a wide dynamic range, a minimum illumination of 3 lux and its lens has a 35 mm equivalent focal length of 30.5 to 627 mm. The device can use an external controller via RS-422/VISCA or Canon’s proprietary IP XC protocol over a secure, private LAN using the optional RC-IP100 PTZ controller. Or, if you prefer to use Canon’s camera control software, the free-to-download application can run on Windows OS, so you can control all camera functions from a laptop or tablet. The software provides a 9×9 live view, control of up to 100 cameras, uploading and configuration of settings and counting functions.
