It is perfect for low-light portraits and landscape photography. Its larger full frame sensor offers a beautiful bokeh effect and sensational quality. The EOS R8 is great for hybrid content, thanks to high-quality 4K 60p video, oversampling from 6K, and its intuitive functions for professional use. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II identifies, recognizes and tracks subjects throughout the frame for maximum sharpness in photos and video. It also follows moving subjects, thanks to a 40 fps electronic shutter.
Up to 4K/60p resolution, focus breathing compensation and Canon Log 3 color profile for professional color grading. Full HD footage can be shot at up to 180 fps for fantastic slow-motion effects. The EOS R8 with 24.2-megapixel full frame sensor can shoot up to ISO 102,400 extendable to ISO 204,800. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is sensitive down to -6.5 EV⁵, or about as much light as a half moon.
A qualitative leap
Shoot your best work with a 24.2-megapixel full frame CMOS sensor that offers the perfect blend of detail, speed and low-light performance. The larger sensor also captures more detail in the darkest and brightest parts of a scene, making it a great camera for landscape photography. It also allows you to shoot great portraits with an exceptional bokeh effect. Multiple HDR modes allow you to capture greater dynamic range, even with moving subjects.
The dark becomes an image
In low-light conditions, the EOS R8 allows you to take photos and videos of outstanding quality. The large full frame sensor reduces digital noise, and the camera can shoot up to ISO 102,400 (extendable to ISO 204,800). Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is sensitive down to -6.5 EV, which is about as bright as a half moon.
Important features, lightweight design
Weighing only 461g, the EOS R8 is, at present, our lightest full frame mirrorless camera, take it with you wherever you go. It will be your ideal creative companion for shooting outdoor events. A dedicated switch lets you switch between photo and video modes, keeping your settings in each. The swiveling screen is perfect for shooting and filming from different angles.
