The Blackmagic 6K G2 Pocket Cinema Camera is the latest Super35 compact camera, and with the free electronic viewfinder (EVF), it’s even more complete! You can choose from a wide range of Canon EF/EF-S mount lenses; electronic lens communication with iris, autofocus and zoom control is available with compatible lenses. It includes a tiltable 5″ touchscreen LCD, EVF Pro, two mini-XLR audio inputs, an NP-F570 L-series battery slot and updated Gen 5 colour science. By eliminating internal ND filters and reducing the brightness of the 6K Pro’s 1500cd/m² LCD display, Blackmagic now allows users to choose between two nearly identical 6K models, depending on their priorities. Like Blackmagic Studio cameras, the BMPCC 6K G2 has a built-in colour corrector that works with the ATEM Mini. It supports optional pedestal focus and zoom controls.

Features of firmware update 7.9 include:
– a new slider for adjusting the focus assist intensity;
– the ability to select between SD and SSD media on the LCD screen itself;
– adjustment of the colour of the framing guide;
– improved lens control and autofocus functions;
– adds support for focus and zoom requirements, no longer just for studio cameras,
– gyro sensor information can be recorded in the data and DaVinci Pro can use the gyro data to stabilise footage.

The Blackmagic 6K G2 Pocket Cinema Camera uses a Super35-sized sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO 400/3200 up to 25,600 to capture rich images at resolutions up to 6144 x 3456 at up to 60 fps. Capture in Blackmagic Raw or ProRes 422, depending on project requirements, and record via the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots or via the full-size HDMI port to an optional ATEM Mini switcher for live streaming, or output via the USB Type-C port for capturing longer clips to an external SSD.

Professional audio support now includes two mini XLR inputs with +48V phantom power, a 3.5mm stereo input, a mono speaker, a headphone output and a built-in stereo microphone system.
Both the Blackmagic 6K G2 camera and the optional battery grip use widely available NP-F570 L-series batteries.
The Blackmagic Design 6K G2 camera comes with a DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key, a 30W power supply that offers simultaneous battery charging, an NP-F570 battery, a lens port cap and a camera strap.

The free EVF is designed specifically to fit into the EVF slot on the 6K Pro and locks in place using a built-in M4 screw. When in use, it turns off the built-in touchscreen LCD display so that you do not accidentally change settings while using the EVF. The display provides a 1280 x 960 resolution image on its sharp micro-OLED display. The display provides a variety of overlays such as status, indicators, and settings in the blank areas above and below the camera image. It accepts input frame rates up to 60 fps and 24-bit RGB colors for clear image representation. Its glass diopter offers -4 to +4 adjustment, and the display also has a digital focus table. It can rotate up to 70° and a set of four eyecups is included and provides compact, medium, cinematic left eye and cinematic right eye configurations.
