The ADAM SUB15 15″ amplified audio subwoofer 1000W RMS is also very flexible when it comes to connectivity: balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) input/output connectors are located on the back of the subwoofer. The SUB15 is an extremely powerful loudspeaker capable of extending the frequency range of the main and midrange monitors down to 20Hz. The robust 15″ woofer is made of an exceptionally stiff aluminium cone and is driven by two powerful magnets and a 100 mm voice coil. With a power output of 1000 Watts (RMS), the PWM amplifier has an efficiency factor of almost 90 %. Thanks to these features, the Sub15 can handle critical musical passages with intense and sudden bass peaks without showing signs of distortion or overheating. The bass port, which shoots downwards, is specially designed with large dimensions and rounded edges to cancel port noise.

To adapt the sound of Sub15 to different environmental situations or individual tastes, we have implemented several controls, including one for volume (-60dB to +6dB) and one for crossover frequency (50Hz – 150Hz). The satellite speakers can be driven full-range or with a high-pass filter at 85 Hz. This allows Sub15 to be easily integrated into a Dolby surround configuration. Unfavourable phase relationships between the satellites and subwoofer, particularly in the crossover frequency range, can be easily controlled with the supplied phase inversion switch. With a high and undistorted sound pressure of 120 dB maximum SPL at one metre, the Sub15 is the perfect subwoofer for medium to large control rooms.
