The ADAM S5V triamplified 3-way audio studio monitor with 12″ woofer offers unparalleled reproduction quality in terms of accuracy, dynamic range and lack of coloration. The 4-inch DCH MF loudspeaker, with its unique hybrid dome/cone construction, handles important midrange information with extreme precision, while ADAM Audio’s S-ART folded ribbon tweeter, handcrafted in Berlin to the tightest possible tolerances, produces breathtaking highs and ensures that the sound field is presented in all its most delicate and filigreed details. The off-axis responses of the treble and midrange speakers remain extremely precise thanks to the addition of waveguides for treble and midrange milled from solid aluminum. The resulting wide-range, stable dispersion ensures that multiple teams can work simultaneously in the speakers’ sweet spot, as is often necessary in larger control rooms.

The custom-designed DSP optimizes speaker crossovers to create linear responses for the entire range, as well as providing user equalization and in-room tuning/voicing functions. The DSP also handles limiter-based high-frequency speaker protection, processes signals from the AES3 digital inputs, and, in time, will facilitate various expansion options. Software updates can be easily performed via the associated USB port, which also allows users to connect computers and control the speakers’ DSP functions via a software front-end. A 700 W Class D amplifier drives the S5V’s bass unit, while other Class D designs provide 300 W and 100 W to the DCH midrange and S-ART treble drivers, respectively.
