The D-tap power cable for Red Komodo is designed to provide reliable and continuous power to the camera, this cable allows the Red Komodo to be connected to external power sources such as V-mount or Gold Mount batteries equipped with a D-Tap connector. The D-Tap cable is constructed from high-quality materials that ensure robustness and durability, making it suitable for use in harsh shooting environments or outdoors. Its length is designed to offer maximum flexibility during shooting, allowing the battery to be placed in a convenient and safe position without restricting the movement of the cameraman or equipment.

The D-Tap connector, also known as the P-Tap connector, is a standard connector type in the film industry, appreciated for its versatility and ease of use. This Red Komodo-specific cable features a male D-Tap connector on one side and a Red Komodo-specific 2-pin connector on the other, ensuring a secure and stable connection to the camera. The use of a D-Tap cable allows videomakers to utilise the capacity of external batteries, which generally offer longer life than the camera’s internal batteries. This is particularly useful for extended shoots, such as film productions, documentaries or live events, where it is essential to minimise downtime caused by battery changes. In addition, the D-Tap power cable reduces the load of batteries to be carried, simplifying on-set logistics.
