The Sony RM-DP7 is the large-screen model in the Sony monitor controller family for Cinema Line, designed for those working with FX5, FX3, FX2, and FX30 cameras, with support for FX6 and BURANO expected via firmware update in the second half of 2027. The device integrates a 7″ Full HD touchscreen monitor with up to 2,000 cd/m² brightness and a control knob for manual focus, designed for operators who need to monitor and control the camera from a distance, even in more structured production setups compared to the compact RM-DP5 model.

Professional-grade color calibration, performed individually at the factory, ensures faithful reproduction even in difficult outdoor lighting conditions, with continuous color drift compensation. The monitor supports 6 look presets and up to 16 user LUTs in .cube format (17 or 33 grid), useful for S-Log3 monitoring. Camera control is handled via touch, control knob, multi-function dial, and assignable buttons, with support for touch autofocus and zoom control on compatible power zoom lenses.

Unlike the RM-DP5 model, the RM-DP7 adds 12G-SDI input and output connectivity with bidirectional SDI/HDMI cross-conversion, making it suitable for broadcast workflows and sets with coaxial cable video distribution. Camera connection is available via Ethernet, USB-C (dual port), or wirelessly with up to 4K video transmission using compatible third-party wireless transmitters. The dust- and moisture-resistant aluminum body can be powered via Sony BP-U series batteries, USB-C Power Delivery, or, exclusively on this model, a DC input with a locking connector.
