The Sennheiser EW-D ME2 SET (R1-6) Digital Wireless System is a revised UHF digital wireless system for the 520–576 MHz range. The kit includes an EW‑D EM rack/tabletop receiver, an EW‑D SK bodypack transmitter with ME 2 omnidirectional lavalier microphone.

Digital transmission operates on a 56 MHz band, with up to 2,240 selectable frequencies and an equidistant tuning system (600 kHz spacing), allowing simultaneous use of up to 90 channels without intermodulation. The dynamic range of 134 dB and ultra-low latency of 1.9 ms ensure excellent audio quality and fast response times. The Bluetooth Low Energy connection with the Smart Assist app enables remote configuration, auto-scan, battery monitoring and wireless synchronisation — even from a distance of up to ~36 metres. The transmitter offers approximately 8 hours of battery life with AA batteries, extendable to 12 hours with an optional lithium-ion battery.

The receiver utilises Intelligent Switching Diversity technology, protecting the transmission from RF interference via two removable BNC antennas and a robust metal chassis, suitable for rack mounting (1/2 U) or desktop use. Balanced XLR and unbalanced TRS audio outputs offer versatility in connections.
