Allen & Heath DX32 32×32 modular audio expander for SQ, AHM-64, Avantis and dLive mixers

The Allen & Heath DX32 32×32 modular audio expander for SQ, AHM-64, Avantis and dLive mixers is rack-mountable and includes plastic feet for shelf or floor use. It has 4 slots for inserting any combination of 8-channel analogue or digital I/O modules. A pair of Ethercon ports is provided for redundant connection to a dLive S Class control surface or mixing engine via Fast Ethernet. Connection to dLive C Class, Avantis, SQ and AHM-64 systems is via a single cable connection. This connection carries up to 32×32 channels of uncompressed 96kHz audio and control data. In addition, the Allen & Heath DX audio expander provides automatic firmware updates to the expander and system power-up when a firmware mismatch is detected. Available I/O modules include: 8 recallable preamplifiers with XLR connectors for balanced or unbalanced mic and line signals; Gain, pad and 48V will be digitally controlled within the preamp; a phantom power indicator is provided; 8 balanced XLR outputs at line level; outputs must be protected by relays to prevent switching on and off; 4x AES3 stereo inputs on XLR with SRC (32kHz -192kHz sampling rate). The Allen DX expander is equipped with a modular power supply that accepts AC mains voltages of 100~240V, 50/60 Hz, 300W max via a 3-pin IEC male connector connected to earth. A rocker switch is provided near the mains input to isolate the mixer from the incoming power supply. The Allen & Heath DX audio expander also offers the option of a second hot-swappable redundant power supply. This must be of the same type and interchangeable with the power supply fitted as standard.
