The PL-E6 dummy battery for Canon with D-Tap coiled power cable is an essential accessory for photo and video professionals who wish to extend the battery life of their Canon devices, such as SLR or mirrorless cameras, during long shooting sessions. This allows the camera to be powered directly from an external source, such as a V-Mount or Gold Mount battery, equipped with a D-Tap output, eliminating the need to use Canon’s genuine LP-E6 batteries, which can quickly discharge.

The spiral design offers several practical advantages: firstly, the spiral shape reduces clutter, keeping the cable tidy and preventing knots or tangles that could hinder movement during shooting. This type of cable is designed to be extendable, adapting to the required length without being excessively long when not needed, thus reducing the risk of accidents or accidental disconnections. The use of a dummy battery, or ‘dummy battery’, such as the Canon LP-E6, offers the convenience of inserting a module into the camera’s battery compartment that replicates the size and contacts of the original battery. This ‘dummy battery’ is connected to the D-Tap cable, which in turn is connected to the external power source. This configuration makes it possible to use batteries with a much larger capacity than the original batteries, considerably increasing the usable time of the camera without having to stop shooting to change the batteries.
