The Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS – photographic lens is the first medium telephoto macro lens with E-mount and built-in image stabilization offers all the quality of a G lens. Stunning resolution with maximum magnification of 1:1 and beautiful bokeh effect, even in handheld shots. The floating focus mechanism ensures superior and reliable optical performance at any focusing distance. Each lens is individually tested and calibrated to minimize spherical aberrations, enabling an extremely smooth and visually stunning bokeh effect. The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) describes the detail performance of a lens by measuring the contrast between lines placed at short intervals.
Crisp images at all distances
Equipped with a floating focus system, this lens ensures consistent and superior optical quality across the entire image, regardless of the focusing distance. Whether shooting close-ups in macro mode or subjects at longer distances, the rendition always remains sharp and detailed. This mechanism optimizes focus at every distance, eliminating aberrations and ensuring high performance in every shooting situation, for consistently sharp and well-defined images.
Perfect separation of the subject
This G series lens has been meticulously tested and calibrated to minimize spherical aberrations, ensuring superior optical performance. Thanks to this optimization process, it can produce an incredibly smooth bokeh effect, with blurred backgrounds that clearly separate the main subject from the surrounding scene. The blur effect is natural and smooth, giving your images a professional look with smooth, visually pleasing transitions between the subject and the environment. This lens is ideal for those seeking to achieve superior bokeh quality in both stills and video footage.
Sharp macro shots
The first macro lens in the α series with built-in image stabilization offers the ability to achieve stunningly sharp images even without the use of a tripod. Thanks to advanced stabilization, this lens effectively reduces blur, enabling handheld shots at high magnifications, which usually require more precision and stability. Whether shooting macro photography of small objects or minute details, the stabilization technology ensures clear, well-defined results, even in low-light situations or with longer exposure times.
