Specifications

The Hoya HD Mk II IRND1000 82 mm ND filter is a neutral density filter designed for photography, video, and cinematic shooting with 82 mm threaded optics. With an ND 3.0 density, equal to 1000x, it reduces incoming light by 10 stops, allowing for extended exposure times to achieve motion blur—particularly useful in landscape photography—or for shooting with wider apertures even in strong ambient light, to control depth of field. Like all grey filters, it darkens the entire image surface uniformly, so it can be used either to extend exposure time or to open up the aperture. The Hoya IRND1000 ND filter belongs to the HD Mk II series and uses ACCU-ND technology, developed to block infrared light. This is an ND1000 filter with infrared blocking, which limits the rust-colored color casts caused by infrared light and maintains neutral color rendering in both photos and videos. As an 82 mm 10-stop ND filter, it is made of optical glass with multiple anti-reflective coatings to reduce reflections and glare in intense lighting conditions, and includes hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings that resist salt water and fingerprints. The aluminum mount has a slim profile, useful for avoiding vignetting even with wide-angle lenses, and the front thread allows multiple filters to be stacked together. It comes in the original product box along with a protective case. Buy the Hoya IRND1000 82 mm at Martcom.
