The Canon EG-E2 Extension Grip for Canon EOS R8 Mark II is the official Canon accessory designed exclusively for this mirrorless camera. It attaches to the base of the camera body via a knurled aluminum ring with manual threading, increasing the grip height for a more solid and comfortable hold, particularly when using heavier lenses or during extended shooting sessions. In professional circles, this accessory is often referred to as the EG-E2 grip EOS R8 Mark II, to distinguish it from the previous EG-E1 model, which was designed for the EOS RP and R8. The design has been engineered to integrate visually with the camera body, maintaining the same matte black finish. A dedicated compartment allows battery and memory card replacement without removing the grip, reducing downtime during field shooting. An integrated 1\/4″-20 threaded hole at the base allows tripod mounting without needing to remove the accessory, enabling seamless transitions from handheld shooting to tripod use without interrupting workflow.
