The Tamron 12-20mm F2.8 is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for Full-frame mirrorless cameras, designed for photographers and Videomakers working in architecture, landscape, interior, and astrophotography. The 12mm focal length, extendable up to 20mm, offers a field of view of 121\u00b058’\u201394\u00b030′, among the widest available in a constant-aperture zoom lens.<\/p>\n

The F2.8 aperture remains constant throughout the entire focal length range, ensuring fast shutter speeds even in low-light conditions\u2014a real advantage for night shots and indoor photography. The optical design, consisting of 17 elements in 12 groups, includes one XGM (eXpanded Glass Molded Aspherical) element, three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) elements, and additional special low-dispersion elements, designed to minimize chromatic aberrations and correct sagittal coma, a common optical defect in astrophotography.<\/p>\n

Focusing is handled by the fast and quiet VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor. The 12-blade circular aperture helps produce a uniform rendering of out-of-focus light sources. The lens features a non-removable petal-shaped lens hood, a rear filter mount (there is no thread for front filters), and a front cap with a locking mechanism. The structure is treated with a fluorocarbon coating and is resistant to dust and moisture. Weighing 570 g and measuring 119.3 mm in length, it is a compact lens for its angle of view. It is compatible with the TAMRON Lens Utility app for customizing functions and updating firmware.<\/p><\/div>\n
