Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm F1.8 Fisheye PRO MFT mount \u2013 photographic lens black combines a wide 180\u00b0 angle of view with a weather-resistant construction, and is a Micro Four Thirds system lens offering a 16mm equivalent focal length for unique perspectives and creative distortion. A fast f\/1.8 maximum aperture offers advantages in difficult lighting conditions, and a ZUIKO Extra-Low Reflection Optical (ZERO) coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimise the effects of flare and ghosting for contrast-rich, colour-accurate images. A sophisticated lens design further contributes to the remarkable image quality by utilising a variety of aspherical, low dispersion and high refractive index elements. A fast fisheye featuring a compact profile to fit the Micro Four Thirds system, this lens further excels with its optically refined and externally sealed design.
\nComplementing its optical merits is a high-speed AF imager system that provides fast, smooth and silent focusing, and the Movie and Still Image Compatible (MSC) designation also indicates this lens’ suitability for use with fast-moving subjects and video applications. A minimum focusing distance of 4.7″, together with a maximum magnification of 0.2x (equivalent to 0.4x), also allows you to work with close-up subjects to further enhance the unique perspective offered by the fisheye design. An 8 mm fisheye offers a focal length equivalent to 16
\nmm length for Micro Four Thirds system cameras along with a wide 180\u00b0 angle of view with characteristic perspective distortion.
\nThe fast f\/1.8 maximum aperture offers advantages when working in difficult and low-light conditions.
\nThe lens construction integrates one aspherical element, three Super ED (extra low dispersion) elements, two ED elements, one Super HR (high refractive index) element and two HR elements into its design to minimise aberrations, distortion and colour fringing while also contributing to overall image sharpness, clarity and colour fidelity. The ZERO coating helps suppress lens flare and ghosting for higher contrast and more accurate colour rendition.
\nDust-, splash- and frost-proof construction ensures the performance of this lens in adverse conditions and harsh environments.
\nThe high-speed linear AF imager motor drive system, with MSC support (Film and Still Image Compatible), offers fast, smooth and quiet focusing performance.
