The Blackmagic UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 is the world’s most advanced capture and playback solution for PCI Express and Thunderbolt computers. It features 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 technology and professional 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 connections, working at up to 60fps with 12-bit Deep Colour RGB. It offers support for HDR workflows via HDMI 2.0 Type A, and for the high frame rates of 4K. It accommodates numerous analogue and digital connections, and is compatible with any camera, deck, router, and display. It even includes real-time H.265 encoding hardware. For local monitoring, it offers an LCD preview screen and basic controls on the front panel. The Blackmagic UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 for video playback and capture can be useful for non-linear editing, on-set capture, VFX, audio post-production, live-streaming, color-grading, live production applications, and more. Included with the device are two SD cards that feature the following Blackmagic applications: Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility and Blackmagic drivers on Mac OS X/Windows 7, 8 and 10/Linux, and DaVinci Resolve (formerly known as DaVinci Resolve Lite).
