Blackmagic Ultimatte 12 4K 12G-SDI high-performance broadcast video processor is the world’s most advanced keyer with 12G-SDI connections for working in HD and Ultra HD. Now the compositing of sets for weather, sports, news, and entertainment takes shape in real time.

All Ultimatte 12 models incorporate the same formidable image processing algorithms and immense colour space, ensuring compositions of the same quality. Mattes are automatically generated internally to process different parts of the image separately according to colour. It takes meticulous care of contours to retain every detail, e.g. hair, and ensures smooth transitions between colours or other objects in the scene. The new sub-pixel processing delivers unparalleled quality and sharpness.

In live production, speed is everything. It offers single-touch compositing technology that analyses the scene and automatically sets more than 100 parameters to achieve perfect keys without difficulty. When the set is well lit and the white balance of the cameras optimal, simply activate Ultimatte’s automatic key and let it do the work for you. Each model also includes background correction to compensate for unevenly lit blue or green screens. The single-touch keys are significantly faster and guarantee accurate results with minimal effort, giving operators the freedom to concentrate on shooting.

It also offers advanced processing for the halo effect, contours and transitions, and to eliminate the background without affecting other colours. It accurately retains and reproduces colours impossible with other keyers, even the bright yellow of a green screen dress! Ultimatte 12 4K is so advanced that it isolates and treats distinct areas of the image separately, at the same time ensuring smooth transitions between them. Compositing quality is excellent and the final look photorealistic, sharp images with brilliant colours.

Advanced halo effect algorithms cleverly remove green contamination and other imperfections, creating realistic virtual environments. It automatically samples colours, creates accurate masks for walls, floors and other parts of the image, and applies the necessary correction. Shadows are properly mapped and composited onto the new background, contamination removed, and transparent objects treated to perfection!

The Ultimatte 12 4K and Ultimatte 12 8K boast 12G-SDI connections to work with current HD and future Ultra HD and 8K video formats. The 12G-SDI admits Ultra HD at high frame rates via a single BNC connection and connects to the HD equipment you already own. Ultimatte 12 4K is compatible with all SD, HD, 3G, 6G, and 12G-SDI devices, and supports all HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60. Ultimatte 12 8K is equipped with Quad Link 12G-SDI for all video formats up to 4320p60 8K.
